Michael Sean Dorsey was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1990. He received his BA in Cinema Art and Science from Columbia College Chicago & his MFA as a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute Conservatory.
His work is rooted in memory, family, mysticism, and queer identity.
In addition to writing and directing more than 20 short films & directing for the stage, Michael’s video installation & photo works have been exhibited at SMU's Mildred Hawn Exhibition Gallery, Hofmann LaChance Contemporary, Blum & Poe Los Angeles, & the Philosophical Research Society’s Hansell Gallery.
